Our Story

Check out our history below from the first donation event to now!

Thanksgiving 2020

Our founder, Robby, was not able to travel home to Michigan for Thanksgiving after just last month moving to Denver. He decided that instead of sitting home alone on Thanksgiving, he would go and buy supplies to make a full Thanksgiving meal for the homeless communities of Denver. Although only able to afford and create 25 meals, it was the catalyst that started the scaling of his events that eventually turned into The Giving Kitchen!

Thanksgiving 2021

After the exciting first event of 2020, it was decided to go to the community for donations, to give others an opportunity to support this yearly event. Donations for the Thanksgiving meals totaled an astounding $1,500. This allowed us to not only double our meal output to 50 meals, but also add in essential supplies such as a a hygiene kit, warm socks, winter hat, scarf and gloves.

Thanksgiving 2022

Thanks to the community support of The Giving Kitchen and our mission, in 2022 we were able to double our output of meals and supplies once again! On Thanksgiving 2022, we were able to make 100 meals and essential supply kits for the homeless communities of Denver.

Thanksgiving 2023

Expanding our reach again, in 2023, we were able to produce and distribute 150 care packages to the communities experiencing homelessness in Denver. This year's event was our biggest event ever and opened the doors to expand to additional cities and more events throughout the year!
